1937. Was the military conspiracy?

30s of the XX century constitute one of the tragic periods of Soviet history. In fact, at this time the country was in a state of civil war. The confrontation of the “upper” and “lower classes” can be considered an indisputable fact, and the result of this confrontation were millions of people - arrested, executed, exiled. Numerous processes over pests, spies, saboteurs, i.e. "The enemies of the people." The echoes of these events, of course, were also observed in the Red Army. Was the military conspiracy in 1937? This issue has repeatedly sounded at various levels in different years, especially during the period of Rehabilitance-in the late 1950s and in the early 1960s. Historian N.S. Cherushev believes that “there was no military conspiracy in 1937. As it was not in 1938, when on charges of belonging to him the prominent military leaders of the Red Army were illegally arrested, who accepted the martyrdom for the crimes that were not committed by them. ” The main conclusion of the author is this: “... was the conspiracy of Stalin and his henchmen against the Red Army and its valiant commanders!”
