George Orwell, an English writer, critic and publicist entered the history of literature primarily thanks to his last novel “1984”. The society depicted by the author is based on the total non -freedom of personality, propaganda and open violence, which defeated, according to the Gorky and Terrible prediction of the author, in the fictional state of Oceania by 1984, however, in the structure of this state, the features of any totalitarian regime are easily guessed.
This collection also includes the famous satirical fairy tale “Castard”, which thematically adjoins the novel “1984”. Animals in a fairy tale, having expelled from the owner’s farms, are trying to create a fair society according to the laws of universal equality. But this is not such an easy thing, for, as it is said in the novel: “All animals are equal. But some animals are more than others. "
