A blind musician. Korolenko V.
Vladimir Galaktionovich Korolenko (1853-1921) grew up in Ukraine, in the family of a county judge. Left after the early death of his father, virtually no means of existence, Vladimir experienced deprivation in life, and this influenced his attitude. Already being a writer, he fought for the truth in his works: he could not look indifferently at the suffering of the common people, hated evil, violence, injustice. “A person was created for happiness, like a bird for flight” - this is perhaps the leitmotif of his work.
Korolenko wrote many beautiful works. In the story “Blind Musician”, first published in 1886, V. G. Korolenko is looking for an answer to the question of what human happiness is. The hero of the story - a blind man blind from birth - did not close in himself, did not take his blindness as misfortune, and with the help of caring relatives and friends, he was able to choose a life path, become a famous musician.
