A book of desires, or unsolved secrets of the “golden age” of Soviet architecture. Osinsky V.A.

The action of the new book by V. Osinsky takes place at the beginning of the zero. Vyacheslav Oltarzhevsky, a descendant of the great Russian Soviet architect, named after the famous great -grandfather (Vyacheslav Oltarzhevsky - the author of the project of the Stalinist skyscrapers, VDNH, worked for a long time in the USA and is considered the "gray cardinal" of Soviet architecture), unexpectedly gets the opportunity to change his life and enter the government: A strange book falls into his hands, which becomes his happy talisman. Very soon, the main character understands that his fate is controlled by a powerful force.

Then a relative of the protagonist gives him the record of the former White Guard officer and his brother's sibling of the famous architect. Which tells about the surroundings of the architect Oltarzhevsky - outstanding architects, powerful politicians, entrepreneurs and philanthropists of the beginning -inventions of the 20th century - and how the architectural masterpieces of the great ancestor were created. Memoirs also talk about the historical events of the era: civil war, white emigration, reemination and life in the USSR of a secret dissident who hates power, but helps the genius brother to build up. These memories help the main character understand what is happening to him now and decide how his great -grandfathers decided at one time, whether he serves a system or his country.
