A bowl of heaven. Nivven L., Benford G.

The expedition flying from Earth to another star system meets something incredible in space: a bowl -like structure the size of a solar system, inside of which, like an engine, a star burns. It quickly turns out that the bowl is inhabited. But where does it go? And who created it?

A team of researchers is sent to the object, but the first contact is completely out of plan. Now people have to find out the goals of the gigantic artifact, to find out who inhabit it, and thanks to this, to change his views even to their place in the Universe.
