Ivan Krylov (1769-1844)-an outstanding Russian fabulist, poet, publicist, publisher of satirical and educational magazines, who in his lifetime deserved the respect and love of his people. “Of course, not a single Frenchman dares to put anyone higher than Lafontaine, but we, it seems, can prefer Krylov to him. Both of them will always remain the favorites of their Miabians, ”wrote Alexander Pushkin. I. Krylov created 236 fables, a significant part of which is written on the original plot.
