Anton Pavlovich Chekhov (1860 - 1904) took the first steps in Russian literature under the pseudonyms - “Antosha Chekhonte”, “Man without a spleen”, “Brother of my brother” - as the author of small stories and feuilletons that published in humorous Moscow magazines “Alarm clock”, “spectator” and in St. Petersburg weekly “Shards”, “Dragonfly”. Subsequently, these wounded works were included in the first own books of the novice author.
This book is the most complete collection of humorous stories of the famous writer, it includes the collections "Pun", "Fairy Tales of Melpomene", "colorful stories", etc.
The illustrations were made by relatives brother of the writer Nikolai Pavlovich Chekhov (1858-1889).
