The attention of readers is proposed to the classic course of theoretical mechanics, written by an outstanding scientist-mechanical and methodology teacher S. M. Targ. This course was repeatedly reprinted in Russian and was translated into many languages ​​of the world.

The book sets out the foundations of the mechanics of the material point, the system of material points and solid body in a volume corresponding to the programs of technical universities.
