The creation of the great teacher and the Western Holy Father of the era of the unrequited church of St. Ambrose Mediolansky (339-396) “On Repentance” was written in 384-394 and is devoted to whether the church has the right to forgive serious sins in the sacrament of confession. Refuting some of the extremely strict sectarian ideas, St. Ambrose sets out the church doctrine of repentance and proves on the basis of the Holy Scriptures that the loving and merciful God in the sacrament of repentance can forgive any sins if the repentance and faith of a person is sincere.
