The collection includes 17 stories and essays. The memories of our army (what it was in the first half of the 1960s) is supplemented by stories about the expeditions related to the collection of materials for the architects of Russia's architecture monuments. The army service, meaningful as a test that forms a person and work in the deaf angles of the Russian province, meetings and communication with a variety of people cause the author of thoughts about the Russian people, about the features of his worldview and historical fate.
