About the cross and resurrection. Ambrose Optinsky
Ambrose Optinsky (in the world, Alexander Mikhailovich Grenkov; 1812-1891) - the clergyman of the Russian Orthodox Church, Hieromonk, was revered during his lifetime as an old man. He is one of the prototypes of the elder Zosima in the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky “The Brothers Karamazov”. He was glorified in the face of saints on June 6, 1988. The Russian publicist and spiritual writer E. N. Pogozhev said about him: “I was struck by his holiness and the incomprehensible abyss of love that were in him. And I, looking at him, began to understand that the significance of the elders is to bless and approve the life and the joy sent by God, to teach people to live happily and help them carry burdenses that are falling to their lot, whatever they are. ” The texts presented in this book contain the elder's recommendations on the righteous lifestyle of a Christian.
