About the imitation of Christ. Thomas Kempi
“On the imitation of Christ” is the most famous and beloved book of Western Christians after the Bible, inspiring the universal leadership of Christian spiritual practice for both monks and laity. The book consists of four separate, independent treatises written in the Netherlands at different times, between 1420 and 1427, and aimed at approving the priority of internal life in Christ.
This publication is based on the translation from Latin Professor K. P. Pobedonostsev, made by him in 1869 with some abbreviations. It is replenished that K.P. Pobedonostsev was not translated, obsolete words and expressions were replaced by those used in our time, some corrections were made after reconciliation with the two most authoritative translations into English and partially with the Latin original.
