About the nature of things. Bilingva Latin-Russian. Lucretius
The reader’s attention is proposed to the immortal poem “On the nature of things” of the Roman poet and philosopher Titus Lucretius Kara - the only fully preserved systematic presentation of the materialistic philosophy of antiquity. This poem is not only a great literary monument, one of the peaks of Roman poetry, but at the same time the most important essay in the history of natural science, containing the most complete and motivated presentation of one of the options for ancient atomism. In parallel with the Russian translation, the Latin text of Lucretia is placed in the book, and thus the reader familiar with the Latin language can compare the translation with the original.
The book is addressed to philosophers, historians of science and culture, literary scholars, as well as a wide range of readers interested in classical heritage.
