“War is a continuation of politics by other, violent means” - this minted definition would be enough to immortalize the work of Karl von Clausewitz. The Prussian officer who fought with Napoleon on the side of Russia was far from the first to write about the war. But these works told how to wage war. Clausewitz tried to penetrate the essence of the war, analyze it as a social phenomenon. And he coped with this task brilliantly. He not only gave an overview of armed conflicts in the history of mankind - he brilliantly formulated the war as a philosophy, brought its laws and defined the driving forces. As a result, the strategic and philosophical understanding of the war turned out to be divided into “before” and “after” the appearance of a book with the simple name “On the War”. Thus, this book remains one of the greatest strategic research in history, and the principles determined by the author are applied not only to analyze hostilities, but also for the formation of competition strategies in politics and business.
