20 years ago, historian Sergey Chuev published a two -volume of the “Special Service of the III Reich”, the first volume of which introduced the reader to the structure and activities of German military intelligence - Abwehr and other security services of the Reich Armed Forces. After the book was published, the author began to enter the numerous requests of readers regarding a particular intelligence, sabotage or police formation. Readers were interested in a lot - from the features of the form to the location of a particular body, especially the biographies of persons mentioned in the text.

In the preparation of this book, the author took into account all these requests of readers. Over the past years, the author significantly replenished the information that he had about German military intelligence and counterintelligence operating on the Eastern Front. The result was a unique reference book, which not only tells about the special services of the main enemy during the Great Patriotic War, but also how the Soviet state security authorities effectively fought them.
