The book is dedicated to the outstanding Russian musician-pedagogue, the actual member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the RSFSR Professor V.N. Shatskaya (1882-1978). In the first part, documents are published, studies characterizing the life path and creative heritage of the scientist, as well as the development of certain aspects of musical education in pre -October Russia and in the USSR. The second part contains memories of V.N. Shatskaya.
