Every year in the middle of the summer, the Academy of Truth invites boys and girls to undergo training. He receives a coveted black envelope with gold letters and Feodossia Rollo, a modest girl from the hinterland. For her family, this becomes salvation - the family has long been impoverished, magicians have not been born already seven generations. In order to adequately conduct Theodossia to the Academy, nine younger sisters voluntarily part with the dowry, give lace and pearls, but it still turns out to be a white crow.

After being in the hostel, the young Magine begins to hear voices and see strange dreams about the mysterious tower and a man with the eyes of the color of the night.
