In his works, the first Latin Christian author of Quintimi Septimius Florence Tertullian (150/170–220/240) fights pagans, heretics and human imperfection. In the treatise proposed by the readers, he falls on the Gnostics of the Marcion, who saw the fundamental difference between the Old and New Testaments and developed the doctrine of the harsh god of the first and good god of the second. The essay “Against Marcion” is a refutation of Gnostic dualism, and the theodicum of the Creator, and the proof of the organic connection between the Old and New Testaments, and the interpretation of a huge number of biblical texts.

Five books of this treatise contain almost all the basic provisions of Christianity and serve as a kind of textbook on sectoral studies and the Holy Scriptures of both covenants. Tertullian protects here, among other things, the truth of the embodiment, suffering, death predicted by the Old Testament prophets of the Savior and defends the resurrection of the dead. The passion of Quinti Septimium, his conviction of his rightness and the desire to turn readers from a dangerous delusion at all costs inspire respect and make us think about whether the fire of living faith has weakened in people over the past 18 centuries, whether we were proudly called tolerance and conformism.
