Against the current: memories of the choreographer. Fokin M.M.

Mikhail Mikhailovich Fokin (1880–1942) - Russian and American choreographer, teacher, dancer, outstanding reformer of the classic ballet. The author of the first triumphal productions presented in the framework of the “Russian seasons” by Sergei Diaghilev.

In the book “Against the Towed”, Mikhail Fokin combines memories of teaching ballet skills, acquaintance with the key figures of the world of the early XX century and creating it that glorified it productions with theoretical discussions about the present and future of ballet and the presentation of their special method. Fokin’s creative autobiography, not completed by the author himself, is supplemented by his late articles that allow you to trace the development of the “Fokinsky” dance theory.
