Algebra textbook, written by the outstanding teacher A.P. Kiselev back in 1888, has since stood many reprints and for a long time has become classic to teach algebra in the Russian and Soviet school. The refusal of training “according to Kiselev”, according to many teachers, has now led to a significant drop in the quality of knowledge of schoolchildren in this area. The “high theoretical level” and the excessive science of modern textbooks impede students' assimilation of their material, so now only 20 % of them acquire full -fledged mathematical knowledge (while about 80 % of schoolchildren have learned the Kiselev textbooks).
