All -night vigil: notes. Nafanael (Bachkalo), hieromonk
In memory of the outstanding Lavra composer at the beginning of the 20th century, Hieromonk Nafanaila (Bachkalo), the publishing house of the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavra reprints his collection “All-Night Vigil”. Undertaken in connection with the upcoming 100-year anniversary of the first edition of the “All-Night Vigil” (1911), the reprint returns the genuine text of the hieromonk Nafanail, whose works in their original, free from regent retouching formed the spirit of monastic singing of pre-revolutionary Russia.
The reprint, thus, with possible accuracy retains in the comments and notes all the author’s originality of the original text. The biographical essay that precedes the musical part makes it possible to live in contact with the personality and life path of the composer. This collection is intended for a wide range of lovers of church singing.
