The attention of the pious reader is proposed to the publication of one of the most ancient sources on the history of monasticism “Memorial Tales of the asceticism of the Holy and Blessed Fathers” (alphabetical patteric), also known as “The sayings of the fathers” and “Apoftegma”. Being compiled in the V century. and located in alphabetical order in the VI century, the “Tales” are short and simple in form, but deep in the meaning of the narrative of miracles, exploits and sayings of the holy founding fathers of monasticism. In them, the reader will draw for himself the unfading saving spiritual wisdom of Christian holiness and instructive examples for imitation. The book is intended for the widespread reader audience.
