Every December Josie sends letters from London to parents, whom she lost on Christmas night many years ago. But this year everything is not going according to plan. A random meeting with a beautiful stranger forever changes her life.

Max, like Josie, avoids the Christmas season. But they spend this Christmas together. And then Max disappears without saying goodbye.

Over the next year, fate will reduce Josie and Max in the most unexpected places: New York, Edinburgh, English suburb. It turns out that Max had all the reasons to leave.
