the name of the novel “Amendment” by Jonathan Franzen literally refers to the decline of the economic boom in the late nineties, which was previously caused by the development of technology. But the most important “amendments” in the novel are sudden blows of fate that open the heroes of the eye to life, forcing them to come out of the state of self -deception and denial.
