The myth of Amur and Psyche is the history of the wanderings of a lonely soul in search of eternal love. This is a complex alloy of ancient ideas about ideal beloved and philosophical concepts of the immortal human essence, forced to obey the universal laws. The figure of Psyche combines the archetypes of the mistress (like Aphrodite), wife (like hera) and mother (like Demeter) at the same time.
