An abandoned quarry. Leonov N.I., Makeev A.V.
by chance, Colonel Gurov is in the Northern Urals in a strange village cut off from the outside world with a mountain range and a deep river. The attention of the detective is attracted by an abandoned quarry located next to the village. It is in it that the Gurov and the local Chebriks find the body of the missing electrician Kalinin, who is suspected of embezzlement of telephone cable. The circumstances of the death of Kalinin seem strange to Gurov, and he begins the investigation. At the same time, the colonel finds out that explosives that remained there after construction work were recently stolen from the same career. The operative is confident that both the murder of an electrician and the stroke of explosives are episodes of the same case, but does not even suspect where the traces of this crime are led.
