Evgeny Lvovich Schwartz (1896-1958) wrote his main tales on the eve and during the Great Patriotic War. He, like no other, sharply felt a moral threat and ferocious larvae of the fascist dictatorship and cult of the personality of Stalin. And in his works, he turns the harsh and terrible fairy tale into a fairy tale, through which not the fabulous reality of the 30-40s of the twentieth century shines through.

The writer tried to predict our future and indicate the paths to good and light. But what is waiting for us: the shadow of the dragon or an ordinary miracle? I would like to believe that good and love will someday defeat evil and it will only remain in the stories of the wise storyteller. Are we raining?..
