Analysis of world systems. Vallestain I.
A collection of articles of the American sociologist and economist Immanuel Wallerstein is devoted to the problems of world-system analysis and assessing the geopolitical situation in the world in the early 1990s. The time considered by many experts as the time of the collapse of the system of socialism, the end of the Cold War and the triumph of the values of the capitalist civilization was evaluated by Vallestayn completely differently. Being a thoughtful scientist, the author was extremely careful in his forecasts of the future, however, many of his paradoxical conclusions are confirmed today with amazing accuracy.
one of the main conceptual ideas of Wallerstain is the statement about the universal crisis of the capitalist world -System, a sign of which was the collapse THE USSR. From the point of view of the author, the Soviet model was not an alternative to capitalism, but its organic part. The period of instability and chaos that began in the late 1990s should end by 2050. The world, according to Wallerstein, "evolves to the new structural order that may be, or maybe there may be no, better than the modern system, but will undoubtedly be different." Much in this process will depend on the choice made by Russia in its strategic development.
