The brilliant artist Andrei Rublev in 1988 was ranked to the Holy of the Russian Orthodox Church "on the basis of the holiness of life and the feat of icon painting." A few creations created by his hand remained for our time. Researchers believe that there were only five percent left, and they wrote about a hundred icons. The master did not sign his work, but they can recognize them “by the special spirit inherent in its brilliant creations.”
