Angel of the western window. MARIRINK G.
“The Angel of the Western Window” is the most significant work of the Austrian writer-Esoteric Gustav Mayric. The author represents us his heroes immortal: they live and act in the Shakespearean era, in the 20th century and in the other world, where their genuine nature is revealed. In the center of the narrative is the fate of the real person of the English natural philosopher, mathematics, astronomer and alchemist John Dee, inextricably woven with the fate of his distant descendant, who ultimately manages to scatter the spell of evil forces and in full consciousness to cross the threshold of allegiance.
In addition to the novels of other authors, the “Angel of the Western Window” and the “Green Face” Mayrink had a great influence on the work of M. Bulgakov, “Master and Margarita”- this, in essence, is a variation on the topics of the Mayric: characters- Doubles, an atonement motive, ironic epilogue.
