Anthology of modern Israeli drama
Israeli theatrical art is famous throughout the world thanks to the outstanding school of modern dance and the talent of its main star - Ohad Naarin. His drama theater, especially the plays that go in it today, is much less known outside Israel. Meanwhile, these plays will tell a lot about the modern Israelis: what they think about themselves and their image that has developed in other countries, what they consider correct and unfair in their recent history, which they are proud of and which they try to avoid, which the hot ones argue about. Much of what excites Israeli playwrights is relevant for Russians.
So, the heroes of one of the plays are patients of a neuropsychiatric dispensary, adolescents injured by the lack of love and understanding of parents. Another text investigates the problem of violence, viskimbleming and indifference to the suffering of victims. The through topic for a number of authors is the historical memory of the Holocaust, which acutely responds in the feeling of European anti -Semitism experienced by Israeli today. Written by playwrights of different generations belonging to different directions and genres - from commercial comedies to experimental dramas, the play collected in this anthology will not only read, but also look at the Russian theater scene.
