Antitumor drug therapy

The national leadership is written in accordance with federal state standards of antitumor drug therapy based on the principles of evidence -based medicine. It sets out modern methods, modes and treatment schemes for most substantial tumors and hemoblastoses in adults and children, as well as promising directions for the development of antitumor drug therapy. The special chapter provides information regarding the possibility of treating metastases without the identified primary focus. For each nosological form, the latest epidemiological data with a description of the dynamics of incidence and mortality are presented, etiological and pathogenetic factors, features of the clinical picture, principles and new diagnostic methods, as well as the possibilities of prevention are considered. A special place is a description of combined treatment methods and new promising areas of immuno- and targeted therapy, accents related to the role of adjuvant, neoadjuvant and post-Ajuvant therapy, as well as maintaining, including targeted, therapy. Separate chapters are devoted to the side effects of all types of antitumor drug therapy, methods of combating them and preventing toxic reactions, and attention is paid to accompanying and symptomatic therapy. A number of methodological aspects are considered, including the clinical testing of new antitumor drugs, the intensification of dose regimes, and the evaluative gradation of efficiency and toxicity. The prospects for the development of drug therapy are reflected in chapters on targeted therapy and immunotherapy of malignant tumors, in addition, almost every chapter in a certain nosology contains a description of the newest regimes and treatment regimens.
