Apology of a madman. Chaadaev P.
Pyotr Yakovlevich Chaadaev (1794-1856) - Russian philosopher and publicist, author of the famous "philosophical letters." After the publication of the first letter in the magazine "Telescope" in 1836 was declared crazy. In his works, Chaadaev discusses the purpose of Russia, the ratio of faith and human mind, about the true historical path and, of course, about the freedom of the individual and its suppression. Chaadaev’s texts largely gave an impetus to the polemic of Westerners and Slavophiles.
The real edition included the chosen works of Chaadaev, including all eight “philosophical letters” and “Apology of a madman”, written in response to accusations of a lack of patriotism, as well as the memories of contemporaries about him.
