Arkady Chernyshev. Reiser L.

The long-term coach of the national team of the USSR and the Moscow Dynamo in hockey with the puck Arkady Ivanovich Chernyshev (1914-1992) can rightfully be called the first among our pioneers of this overseas game. The first coach to see the ancestors of the Canadian hockey, he was the first to crush them during the debut of the country in the international arena. And it was under his leadership that the Soviet Union over two decades turned into a mighty and recognized hockey power in the world. Nine years without a single defeat on the coaching bridge of the national team, nine gold medals of the world champions and three Olympiads won in a row - not a single coach in the world knows such an achievement, and it is unlikely that this incredible record will ever be extensive.

But this is by no means a complete list of loud merits and professional qualities of Arkady Chernyshev. This figure is how large and worthy, so undeservedly deprived of glory during life and grateful memory of descendants after death. What is the phenomenon of Chernyshev? How did he combine intelligence with the art of leading the ice squad? Why are all athletes of different clubs and different generations gratefully and respectfully about him. To many of these and other questions, I had to look for answers to the author of the book - a famous writer, historian Hockey and journalist Leonid Reiser.
