This anthology includes the memoirs of the native brothers Anton Pavlovich Chekhov - Nikolai, Alexander and Mikhail, which constitute a picture of both children's and mature years of the writer's life. Many of his contemporaries left memories about Chekhov: writers, actors, artists.

The heroes of this book, in addition to A.P. Chekhov himself, were V. A. Gilyarovsky, V. G. Korolenko, P. I. Tchaikovsky, A. N. Pleshcheev, N. S. Leskov, I. I. Levitan and many others. Reading these memories leaves an amazing sense of ownership of the Chekhov world, bringing the long -gone era closer.
