The book presents the detailed and edited records of lectures given in recent years to students of various specialties. The base for them was the Interfaculty Course of Moscow State University "Fundamentals of astronomy." These lectures can be used as an introductory course for students of natural science faculties (physicists, chemists, biologists, geographers and geologists), as well as mathematicians and engineers who have not previously been systematically studied by astronomy, but in their work they can come into contact with it. Lectures will be not useful for philologists, especially for translators and editors, as they get acquainted with modern astronomical terminology and the most important concepts from the field of cosmic sciences. The previous edition of the book was published in 2019. Two chapters were added to the real edition: about the planets-giants and small bodies of the solar system.
