This book is the first attempt to reconstruct one of the key plots of the forced modernization of Ukrainian culture in the 20th century - the history of literary theory and criticism in the Soviet part of Ukraine in the 1920th - early 1930s. A lot has been written about Ukrainian cultural modernization of 1920, however, for special cases and ideological preferences, a big picture is sometimes not visible - a real revolution in literary thought and technology that occurred in the conditions of Soviet construction. This is a story about how the public -breeding project intertwined with the process of the formation of the nation.

In the Atlantis of the Soviet National Modernism, a wide cultural-historical and political and ideological context of the development of Ukrainian literary criticism, taking into account the complex relationship between universal avant-garde concepts and modern national-oriented culture, was carefully recreated. Galina Babak is a historian of literature, a graduate of doctoral studies of Karlov University (Prague), researcher at the New Europe College (Bucharest).

Alexander Dmitriev - Leading Researcher Igity named after A.V. Poletaev, Associate Professor of the School of Historical Sciences, National Research University "Higher School of Economics".
