Alexander Fomich Veltman (July 8 [20] 1800-January 11 [23], 1870)-Russian writer, archaeologist, linguist, corresponding member of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences since 1854, Veltman left several interesting historical research, one of which is-one of which is “Atilla is the king of the Rus” (“Attila, Rus' of the IV and V century”), in them he demonstrated deep knowledge and understanding of the story transmitted by ancient chronicles.

These works are still of great interest in their conclusions. However, a flurry of violent criticism from reactionary scientists, both in the past and in the present, leads to the silence of these studies.
