Starting writing memories, the author did not suspect what place they would take in his work. At first, the memoirs made up two volumes. Over time, another, “loving Wells,” was added to them - about relations with women. As a result, the “experience” turned out to be one of Wells's most readable books, competing in popularity with his best fantastic novels.

The book contains thoughts not only on literature issues. The venerable writer appears before us as a sociologist, philosopher, biologist, historian, but most importantly - as a great person, great even in his weaknesses and shortcomings.
