1986. Dagestan. Mountain aul. Aybala is the third of the four daughters of the local midwife, she is ugly and sure that she will never get married. Aibala helps the mother - she knows how not only to take birth, but also to relieve women with pain. Her destiny is to become a midwife in her village, but Aibala wants to study further, study obstetrics.

Having escaped from home, she will go a difficult way from the nurse in a rehabilitation center for pregnant women who suffered from the Chernobyl accident, to a student and a certified midwife.

But the circle of fate will intricately become closed - and Aibala will return to his native village to find not only the desired profession, but also personal happiness.
