Since the end of the 19th century, the piano duet in Russia has been one of the most popular types of collective creativity. The attention of home musical fans offered a huge number of musical literature: transcription of opera and ballet music, transfers of popular songs, copyright plays.

In the 20th century, the tradition of amateur music is reflected in children's musical pedagogy. Piano ensembles took their place in the training program for young pianists. The repertoire of the genre was enriched at the expense of copyright works written specifically for children taking into account their age -related features.

Now, in the 21st century, interest in the art of the piano duet is incredibly great. Life made its adjustments to a children's musical education, which was significantly “rejuvenated”. The need for a repertoire, understandable and accessible to children 5-6 years old, has increased.

This collection presents piano duets and terraces that allow you to expand the children's ensemble repertoire. Figuration and genre plays are designed for classroom work and concert practice of students of the preparatory and elementary grades of the Children's School and the Children's School.
