Bafuta hounds. Zoo in my baggage. Darrell J.
Gerald Darrell (1925-1995) - the famous English zoologist and traveler, one of the cult figures of the twentieth century. Darrell's books have long been a gold fund of world literature and are very popular among readers around the world.
In the 50s of the last century, Darrell, one after another, equipped expeditions at different ends of the world. “Bafuta Hounds” is the story of the second trip of the illustrious Zvezelov to West Africa. The main difficulty of this trip, oddly enough, was not the search for wild animals in places not touched by civilization, but close communication with the eager ruler of Cameroon - the background of Bafuta, a lover of daily amusements, who saw in Darrell the companion. Nevertheless, the most difficult and sad part of each such trip, according to the zoologist, was its completion. Indeed, after several months spent side by side with the animals caught, they had to part with them. Realizing this, Darrell realized that the problem can only be solved by the only way - to take and open his own zoo. The author tells about how one of the most famous nurseries was created for today, in the story “Zoo in my luggage”.
The publication contains illustrations of the famous British artist Ralph Thompson.
