The famous Persian fairy tale about the love of a noble beggar and princess received a new breath in the 20th century under the pen of Ahmed Abdullah. In 1924, the writer and traveler of Russian origin, hiding under the "eastern" pseudonym, worked in Hollywood on the legendary film "Baghdad thief", after which he turned his script into an amazing novel. And the film gave rise to dozens of remakes and imitations, among which - the famous Disney Aladdin.
