Kurzio Malaparte (1898–1957) is an Italian writer, author of the novels “Kaput” and “School”, “Ball in the Kremlin”, books “Commercial Technique”, “Cursed Tuscans”. The anarchist and an adventurer by nature, Malapart often changed beliefs - in his youth he supported Mussolini, was carried away by Maoism at the end of his life, joined the Communist Party. His motto was: “The main thing is that they talk about it,” and he took the pseudonym of Malapart (“bad fate”) as opposed to Bonaparte (“good fate”). An impressive from visiting Moscow in the summer of 1929, from his meetings with the Soviet elite and people of art. This is a grandiose canvas, where real facts are easily adjacent to the invented, imaginary. Heroes of this phantasmagoria: politicians and diplomats-Lunacharsky, Florinsky, Karakhan, their wives and friends-ballerina Marina Semenova, actress Lunacharskaya-Rosenel, famous Beauties Bubnova and Egorova, as well as Mayakovsky, Bulgakov, young girl Marika Chimishkian himself and Kurtzio Malapart himself-exotic a foreigner, witness of a crazy and tragic carnival - Moscow of the late twenties of the twentieth century.
The book is illustrated by rare photographs, equipped with introductory articles and scientific comments of Mikhail Odessa, Natalia Gromova, Stefano Gardzonio.
