The Russian -speaking Israeli prose writer David Markish is the author of two dozen books in which Russian and Jewish history and culture are inextricably intertwined. His novel “Be like everyone else”, full of bright and acute satire about the truth of the life of those who had “happiness” to live “in the era of change”.
