France of the 1830s. The peace of the provincial Primorsky town is broken after a famous writer settled in the vicinity-40-year-old Mademoiselle de Tush, writing under a male pseudonym. The young aristocrat Callist du Genik falls in love with it, because Mademoiselle de Curvets compared to local ladies - a woman is extremely unusual. However, the Callist’s feelings change when her younger girlfriend comes to visit the writer - Marquise Beatrice de Roshfid. Now Callist is in love with Beatrice and is trying to win her, although she came to visit not alone, but together with her lover, composer Jennaro Conti.
