From the first days of World War II, eighteen -year -old Zhenya Anufriev is torn to the front. After strict selection, he gets to serve in the newly created special group of troops of the NKVD, where recruits are prepared for sabotage and intelligence work in the rear of the enemy. On critical days for the country, the detachment is fighting at the most dangerous borders - under the wedge and Dmitrov, prepares defensive positions in Moscow itself... Gradually unsettled "green" boys - Anufriev and his comrades - become experienced fighters. Luck accompanies the detachment until in January 1942 the fighters are faced with the Sukhinichi railway junction reinforced by the Germans...
