It can be traced in detail as the religious and national sources of his work-from the Bible, oral Torah, Hasidism and Kabbalah to Yiddish writers, and the most important general cultural impulses for him: Rimbae, German expressionism, Gogol, Leskov, Blok, Mandelstam, Kuzmin, Yesenin, Esenin, Esenin Mayakovsky and other authors. Particular attention is paid to the continuity between the Jewish tradition and the innovative-paradoxalist poetics of Babel.
