The real explanatory dictionary of psychiatry terms contains more than 8 thousand articles and about 10 thousand terms with laconic and at the same time quite complete definitions of concepts or, as far as possible in the format of this publication, exhaustive descriptions of the corresponding clinical phenomena. Some of the terms are eponymous, thereby recalling their authors and dates of the term entry into force (unfortunately, many terms become nameless). Many terms, in addition to their brief definition, are supplemented by more detailed descriptions of the corresponding phenomena, in relatively few cases, clinical illustrations. In addition to psychiatric, the terms of a number of related and general disciplines are given: general, clinical and social psychology, psychotherapy, narcology, neurology, psychopharmacology, philosophy, etc., which have long become a general property and clinical psychiatry.

The dictionary, in addition to the actual definitions of the terms, includes about a thousand brief articles with a description of individual painful forms, psychopathological syndromes and the most important clinical phenomena, as well as reference information on the basic theoretical and practical problems of psychiatry. Some articles, due to the importance of the problem, are more extensive than this is usually done in dictionaries.

The book is addressed to psychiatrists, doctors of other specialties, clinical psychologists, medical students, psychological and legal faculties, as well as all those who are interested in psychiatry’s problems or in their activities in one way or another come into contact with them. The application contains a short text about the psychology and psychopathology of aggression in order to draw the attention of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists to this extremely important problem.
