Big stories for a little soldier. Lyndladuf B.
Six brothers are being called into the army. On the way to the front, they need to come to the border post and bring a gift for the good of the world. The brothers have no valuable offers or money to cross the border, but they have something to tell about: about an orphan who lived at the bottom of the well, and about the bakery, about the damned lake and the salvation of the brother, about the sandy bride, about the young saint, capable of preventing The war, and, finally, about the dwarf, which became a puppet doll. The brothers tell and tell stories to the lonely and all forgotten sentry at the post, tell as if someone’s life depends on this. What is really true.
In this anti -war novel, the Dutch writer and laureate of prestigious literary awards Benny Lyndladauf shows the highest stylistic skill, and his prose resembles the magical realism of Gabrielia Marcia Marcia and Patric Zyuskind. Ludwig Volbeda, who illustrated the previous novel of Lyndladuf, supplemented the book with melancholy and meditative images of desert landscapes in faded colors.
The book was awarded the award: “Vaustrier Peters” and “Silver Shtel” in the nomination “Best Children's Book”.
